Maharashtra will begin using drones to monitor illegal fishing along its 720-km coastline from January 9. The drones will provide live footage to take legal action against unauthorized boats. The initiative aims to protect marine resources and ensure compliance with regulations, but concerns have been raised about its effectiveness during the monsoon and the use of collected data.
