Former Delhi University professor G N Saibaba passed away at a state-run hospital in Hyderabad due to health complications, seven months after his acquittal in an alleged Maoist links case. He was 50 and died of gall bladder infection and other complications. The Bombay High Court acquitted Saibaba in March, stating the prosecution failed to prove the case against him.
