💨 Abstract
Gold demand in India increased during festivals this week, despite lower volumes due to high prices. Retail buyers made token purchases, while the share of coins and bars in total sales increased. Indian dealers charged a premium for gold, but later offered discounts. Sales were lower in volume, but higher in value. Diwali and Dhanteras, when gold buying is considered auspicious, occurred this week.
