A fire broke out on the ground floor of a four-storey private hospital in Surat, Gujarat, on May 6. No casualties were reported as all patients were safely evacuated within an hour. The blaze started in the store room and spread to other parts of the hospital. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Around a dozen fire tenders were deployed to control the flames.
