Omar Abdullah, National Conference vice president, is contesting the Ganderbal Assembly seat in Jammu and Kashmir, a constituency represented by his family members in the past. He is facing competition from PDP's Bashir Mir, who was previously a candidate from a neighboring constituency due to the reservation of that seat for ST candidates.
