💨 Abstract
Goa witnessed large New Year celebrations with lakhs of tourists and locals flocking to the beaches after midnight on Wednesday. Police regulated traffic and security was deployed to prevent any law and order issues. The state's prominent beaches started getting crowded from Tuesday evening, with most hotels, including high-end ones, recording full occupancy. Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant greeted the people on the New Year.
