💨 Abstract
Former Indian Revenue Service officer P.C. Mody was appointed as Rajya Sabha secretary general for the third time, making him one of the longest-serving in this post. Mody, who served as the chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), was unexpectedly removed from his post after retirement and was later appointed as the head of the secretariat of the Upper House in November 2021.
