The Central Government is a party in approximately 7 lakh cases across courts, with the Finance Ministry being a litigant in about 1.9 lakh cases. As per the Law Minister, following the enactment of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2018, Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) have been established to expedite the resolution of rape and POCSO cases.
