💨 Abstract
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has temporarily extended its security cover to include cargo operations and in-line hold baggage screening at 69 civil airports in India. This measure, lasting till May 18, follows a directive from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) in response to a recent terrorist attack. Normally, the CISF handles passenger screening, but this new mandate adds oversight of cargo and baggage screening performed by private security, aiming to bolster airport security.
