💨 Abstract

The Himachal Pradesh state government is working to strengthen its State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to improve emergency response efficiency and effectiveness. Two key decisions include unifying the response framework under the additional director general of home guards and civil defence, and assigning home guards to SDRF for two years to boost capacity. The government is prioritizing SDRF due to the increasing frequency of natural disasters, such as cloudbursts, in the region.
