Artisans in Guwahati, Assam, are experiencing an unusually long spell of incessant rains, impacting their work on Durga idols for Durga Puja. The rains have caused concern for idol-makers, who are using firewood, coal, and even burners connected to LPG cylinders to dry the idols. They are worried about meeting their deadlines and have taken on additional workers to assist in completing the orders.
