💨 Abstract
The Calcutta High Court granted interim protection to the owner of an upmarket rooftop restaurant in Kolkata, halting further demolition activities by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC). The demolition was initiated following a hotel fire that claimed 14 lives. The restaurant, located on Park Street, holds valid fire and trade licenses and an application for regularization of the rooftop structure is pending with the KMC.
