Kerala's State Health Minister Veena George has stated that Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) has been detected in several Indian states, including Kerala, in the past, and there's no need for concern. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) also confirmed that HMPV is not a new virus and has been existing for years.
