Schools and colleges in Mumbai and its suburbs have been closed on September 25 due to a red alert for heavy rains. The closure is a precautionary measure as the Met department predicts extremely heavy rainfall. The civic body has also advised citizens to stay indoors and commuters to check weather updates before traveling. Heavy rains have been causing disruptions since Wednesday afternoon, affecting traffic and local train services.
