The Indian Air Force (IAF) operated the inaugural flight to the new Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) on October 11, 2024. The airport, being developed by the Adani Group, will have a single operational runway and terminal (T1) with a capacity of 2 crore passengers annually, designed to LEED Gold Standards. Commercial operations are expected to begin in March 2025.
