💨 Abstract

A study using data from India's Chandrayaan-3 mission suggests that ice may be present at more locations beneath the Moon's surface at the poles than previously thought. Large temperature fluctuations and slope angle can affect the formation and movement of ice, which can provide insights into the Moon's early geologic processes. The findings, published in Communications Earth and Environment, also suggest that high-latitude regions could be potential sites for ice exploration and habitat development.
