💨 Abstract

The Congress criticized Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal for suggesting the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) should ignore food inflation when determining interest rates. Goyal stated that it's a flawed theory to consider food inflation for making a choice on rate cuts. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh accused the government of altering data when it doesn't suit them and questioned the government's insensitivity towards high food inflation rates.
