💨 Abstract
Basava Samithi launched the French version of Vachana literature, ancient Kannada poetry from the 11th and 12th centuries, at the Alliance Francaise in Bengaluru. President Aravind Jatti believes spreading these poems globally could promote peace and egalitarianism. Vachanas, composed by saints like Basaveshwara, critique rituals and caste discrimination. The initiative aims to translate them into 38 languages, including major world languages.
