IIT Bombay researchers have developed a new technique using Hydrogen Permeation-based Potentiometry (HPP) and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) to measure the degradation rate of coatings on iron. This method can be beneficial for the steel industry as it helps monitor how quickly organic coatings will deteriorate and let iron rust.
