The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras has launched a first-of-its-kind cancer genome database to aid research on the disease in India. The database, called the Bharat Cancer Genome Atlas (BCGA), contains genetic variants from 480 breast cancer patient tissue samples collected across the country.
