The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has condemned the stabbing of an oncologist, Dr Balaji Jagannathan, by a patient's relative at a Chennai hospital. The IMA called for severe punishment for the attacker and proactive safety measures in hospitals, citing the incident as a wake-up call for the government. The doctor's condition is reported to be stable.
