💨 Abstract
India has extended its "import management system" for laptops and tablets until the end of the year, requiring companies to seek fresh approvals starting from January 1, 2025. The system, which was launched in November 2023, requires companies to register the quantity and value of their imports for monitoring purposes. This decision comes after India reversed its earlier plan to impose a licensing regime on laptop and tablet imports following criticism from industry and Washington.
