India has appointed rocket scientist V. Narayanan as the new head of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Narayanan, known for his work on key rocket launches like ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, takes over from S. Somanath, who made the agency more approachable and opened it up to the next generation.
