💨 Abstract
Sri Lanka's Marxist leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake was sworn in as the new president on Monday, following the presidential election that saw mass protests unseat Gotabaya Rajapaksa in 2022 due to an economic crisis. Indian diplomats say the change is expected and both countries will have to be sensitive to each other's concerns, with Dissanayake aware that tilting towards China is not easy.
