Indian banks are planning to issue more short-term certificates of deposit (CDs) to meet the increased loan demand during the festive season due to challenging deposit mobilization. The stock of outstanding CDs has reached a record high of 5.15 trillion rupees, with banks issuing over 1 trillion rupees of these notes since August.
