💨 Abstract

India's longest rail tunnel under construction in Uttarakhand recently achieved a breakthrough using two German-made tunnel boring machines named Shiv and Shakti, inspired by the state's spiritual heritage. The 14.57-km twin tunnels on the Rishikesh-Karanprayag Rail Link Project will be the first mountainous rail project to use TBMs.
