Indigenously developed HPV test kits for cervical cancer screening were launched in India under the Department of Biotechnology's partnership programme. The kits, validated by studies coordinated by AIIMS Delhi and WHO, include only the seven-eight most common cancer-causing HPV types for an efficient and cost-effective screening programme.
