💨 Abstract

The Jharkhand High Court has stayed the conviction of former MLA Mamta Devi in a 2016 case, allowing her to contest the upcoming assembly elections in November. The conviction was in relation to a violent protest against a private industrial unit over land acquisition issues, resulting in two deaths and injuries to several policemen.
