💨 Abstract

The Kolkata Metro will increase train frequency on the Purple Line, reducing the interval between two services from 50 minutes to 22 minutes. Construction is ongoing to extend the line from Majerhat to Esplanade, connecting it to the Blue Line and Green Line. Starting from Monday, 40 services will be operated on the Joka-Majerhat section, while the line remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
