In Kolkata, scientists and optical observers from two organizations collaborated to create a 14.5-inch f/5 Dobsonian telescope, the largest in the city. The telescope, inaugurated in Shyambazar area, is a product of craftsmanship and scientific ambition. It will be used for studying bright variable stars, observing transient astronomical phenomena, and detailed planetary observations.
