On May 12, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Minister Satish Sharma of Jammu and Kashmir participated in a wreath-laying ceremony for BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham, who died from injuries sustained in cross-border firing with Pakistani troops on May 10. The ceremony was attended by senior officials at the BSF headquarters in Jammu. Constable Chingakham's mortal remains were later dispatched to his family for last rites.
