💨 Abstract
The Maharashtra government has approved a new crop insurance scheme with farmers paying premiums ranging from 1.5% to 2% of the insured amount, replacing a previous scheme where they paid only Rs 1. The new scheme aims to address complaints regarding the previous scheme, where insurance was claimed without planting a crop. The government is already facing a financial burden due to other schemes like Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana.
