💨 Abstract

Sadanand Date, a 1990-batch IPS officer and 26/11 Mumbai terror attack hero, has been appointed as Maharashtra's Director General of Police (DGP). He will take charge on January 3, 2026, succeeding Rashmi Shukla. Date, who returned from his central posting as NIA Director General, was shortlisted by the UPSC for the role.
