Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has called for an apology from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over communal violence in Murshidabad, following anti-Waqf Act protests. Chowdhury also accused the state government of deteriorating law and order, resulting in increased cases of murder, rape, and loot.
