In Manipur, a containment zone was established in New Zoveng village due to a rabies outbreak. A Quick Response Team vaccinated all dogs in about 30 houses during a house-to-house survey. Movement of dogs in and out of the village was restricted. Another village, Mongken, also reported a rabies death. The District Veterinary Officer cited insufficient vaccine supply as a major challenge in controlling the outbreak.
