Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai compared Maoism to cancer and stated the need to attack its root to end the issue. He reported that in the last year, over 230 Maoists were killed in encounters. Sai added that Maoists had caused violence and hindered development in Sukma, but they have been confined to a limited area due to the government's well-planned strategy.
