A Maharashtra-based gang specializing in thefts at crowded religious sites was arrested by Gorakhpur police in Uttar Pradesh. The seven-member gang, including five women, was notorious for using distractions and deceit to commit pickpocketing and theft. During the Dhanteras festival, they stole gold ornaments from a woman in Gorakhpur.
