Maharashtra NCP minister Dhananjay Munde's associate Walmik Karad, wanted in an extortion case linked to the murder of a sarpanch in Beed district, has surrendered in Pune and been remanded in 14-day police custody. The sarpanch, Santosh Deshmukh, was killed in December allegedly for opposing an extortion bid.
