Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aims to free India's youth from the "Macaulay mentality," as called for by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The NEP, now in its sixth year, seeks to reform school and higher education by promoting mother-tongue education, competency-based learning, and skill development.
