On April 13, the first robotic surgery facility in Northeast India was inaugurated at the State Cancer Institute of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in Assam. The facility, equipped with modern functionalities for advanced cancer care, was dedicated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Similar facilities are planned for Silchar and Dibrugarh towns. The state government procured the system at a cost of Rs 14.99
