Two cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) have been detected in Karnataka. The virus primarily affects children and causes flu-like symptoms. People are urged to adopt precautions such as covering mouth and nose while coughing, washing hands frequently, and avoiding public places if symptomatic. The virus spreads through respiratory droplets and close contact.
