💨 Abstract
The Election Commission reported that the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, completed in three phases instead of five in 2014, had no repolls or major law and order incidents. There were no complaints about arbitrary detention of political functionaries, and the role of money and muscle power was significantly reduced. The number of candidates, women candidates, and independent candidates increased, with a notable rise in participation by Registered Unrecognized Political Parties (RUPPs).
