Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced a survey of the remaining 40 salt pans in the state, down from over 100 previously, in the legislative assembly. The survey will be conducted in association with the Goa State Biodiversity Board, and those involved in salt farming will be covered under central government schemes. Salt produced will be procured for industrial purposes, as there is no local demand for it.
