Social activists in Berhampur, Odisha, have urged the Berhampur Municipal Corporation to replace the small, dilapidated statue of social reformer Sashibhusan Rath with a new life-size statue. Rath, a key figure in the state's formation, founded the first Oriya and English newspapers in Berhampur and had a significant role in the freedom struggle and the movement for a separate state.
