In 2024, Naharlagun Police in Arunachal Pradesh seized over 500gm of heroin, 7kg of cannabis, and other narcotic substances. 91 people were arrested under 'Operation Dawn'. The crackdown resulted in a significant decline in thefts and burglaries, often linked to drug addiction. The police also conducted awareness campaigns about the dangers of drug abuse.
