Kerala legislator P V Anvar has resigned as MLA of Nilambur constituency, having joined the Trinamool Congress last week after leaving the ruling LDF. He was the leader of the Democratic Movement of Kerala (DMK) that he formed after departing from the CPI(M)-led LDF. His resignation comes shortly after he announced his role as state coordinator for the Mamata Banerjee-led party.
