💨 Abstract
The Maharashtra government has established a single-member judicial committee, led by retired high court judge M L Tahaliyani, to investigate the murder of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in Beed district. Deshmukh was allegedly killed in December due to his resistance against an extortion attempt on a windmill project. Walmik Karad, an associate of a state minister, has been arrested in connection with the case.
