Panchayat elections in Punjab concluded on Tuesday amidst clashes and incidents of firing. A total of 1.33 crore people were eligible to vote for the posts of sarpanch and panch. Polling was held without political party symbols due to a recent amendment bill. Several incidents of violence were reported across the state, including a man being injured in a firing incident, a police officer being injured by stone pelting, and ballot boxes being stolen.
