💨 Abstract

The Punjab government has requested the Supreme Court for an early hearing on its interim plea seeking immediate release of over Rs 1,000 crore from the Centre towards the Rural Development Fund. The request was made due to the upcoming harvest season and the dilapidated condition of 'mandis' in the state. The court has agreed to consider the plea at a later date.
