Uttar Pradesh's representation of women in legislative bodies is up to 15%, higher than some other developing countries, according to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He addressed a conference of women legislators and urged them to champion issues affecting the common people, while highlighting the state's groundbreaking initiatives and the enactment of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act to further increase women's representation.
